Roy Horton will Race for TeamVRM.com in 2007

Waukesha, WI  - Roy Horton of Frankfurt, IL is set to race the 2006/2007 Toyota AMA Arenacross Series which kicks off at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, IA. Friday November 3rd.  Roy will be looking to continue the success in 2007 that VRM had last year with Unbound Energy / VRM rider Shawn Clark in the Toyota AMA Arenacross Series.

Horton had been riding a full privateer effort last year and this year he welcomes the support of TeamVRM.com.  In 2005/2006 Roy was getting his feet wet and had many competitive rides and caught the eye of VRM.  VRM continued research on this young Midwestern this summer and was able to put a deal together with Roy for the 2006/2007 season.    The current plan is for Roy to race the 2006/2007 Toyota AMA Arenacross Series, occasional Supercross races, other AX races and Loretta Lynn’s.

Roy will be racing a TEAMVRM.com / Nielsen / Honda Oils ride in his quest for the CCE National AX regional championship aboard a Honda CRF250.  Roy commented; “Last year I wasn’t nearly as prepared as I am this year.   I saw VRM support Shawn Clark last year and liked their program.  This year I’m ready to race and hope to be on the podium consistently in the Lites class!  That regional championship would be nice but we’ll see what happens.  My bikes are great, I’m 100% and can’t wait for Friday night!”

Bubba Bunders, Marketing & Riding Support manager of VRM stated; “I’ve watched Roy this summer at the Lake County Fair SX and was impressed.  With a little seasoning he could turn some heads this year.”

Carl Hein, Owner of VRM commented; “I noticed Roy last year when we supported Shawn Clark (unfortunately Shawn is out of the 2007 AX series with and injury) and saw he had the speed but was a little erratic.  With hard work this last summer Roy was able to show he had the speed to run with the big guns.  Riding both classes in the series should continue his progress into becoming a better rider.  I like his attitude, personality and work ethic.”

Backing Roy in his quest for the AMA National Arenacross Series Arenacross class title will be: TeamVRM.com, Nielsen, Honda Oils, Yoshimura, MB1, Efitness Academy, VRM, UFO, Pro Wheel Racing, Guts Racing, Decal Works, Regina, Renthal, Hot Cams, Ride Engineering, Uni Filter, Scott USA, Universal, Weapon MX, Stealth, Unbound Energy, Oxtar

Watch for the release of Roy’s Official web site coming soon.
